Latest update to Inbox makes it even easier to stay productive with Trello and Google Drive integrations
Inbox by Gmail is one of those applications that you don’t really know you need it, until you try it. Personally, I’ve been using it since I received my invite back in the day, and has turned into the only email app that I use just about anywhere. Inbox makes it easy to set reminders to come back to emails, keep track of any long conversations that are taking place, and maintain my “Inbox Zero” status.
The latest update features a few changes that will not only improve your overall experience, but also help keep you more productive at the same time. With version 1.29, Google has now integrated Trello, GitHub and Google Alerts into Inbox.
When subscribed to any specific projects, you will now receive emails in Inbox which will be organized accordingly along with with a brief summary of the changes. There is even an “Open in Trello” or “Open in GitHub” option, below the grouped emails, making it a breeze to pop into the necessary app and view what’s going on.
With Google Alerts, you will now be able to view a breakdown of alerts and scan through them “just like a newsletter.” These alerts will appear at the top of your inbox and you can either get rid of them by deleting them, or open the alerts up to see what’s going on. This seems pretty similar to the latest update that was pushed to Google Now which allows you to add various topics and keep track of any news that pertains to your selected topics.
Other changes:
- If you use Google Drive, you can now insert Drive links into emails, check and fix permissions for those links, and save email attachments to Drive.
- You can now drag-and-drop contacts between to, cc, and bcc in compose on web.
- You can delete right from the inbox just as easily as you can mark as done.
