Watch the OnePlus 3 mop the floor with the Galaxy S7 in a fast charging speed test [VIDEO]

The OnePlus 3 charges fast. Real fast. Just as fast — if not faster — than all those other “fast charging” methods the other guys are using. OnePlus wants to make sure you know this and to prove it, they’ve pitted the OnePlus 3 up against a Galaxy S7 in a real-world recharge test showing you, the viewer, what $400 can get you. You know, when the OnePlus 3 isn’t actually back ordered for weeks on end (the new Soft Gold color is apparently shipping immediately, however).

In the video uploaded to YouTube, the OnePlus 3 demonstrates just how fast Dash Charge — the company’s proprietary fast charging tech — can fill up the phone with power, mopping the floor with Galaxy S7 and Samsung’s Adaptive Fast Charging. After 30 minutes of charging, the OnePlus 3 walked away with 67% battery, while the S7 only had 50%. Not too shabby, but it’s test performed while the screen is on where things really got interesting.

Because the OnePlus 3 uses Dash Charge — a special kind of wall adapter and USB Type-C cable combination — the phone stays cool and is able to fast even while the screen is on and the phone being used. The Samsung Galaxy S7 on the other hand is only able to fast charge while the screen is off, something that could prove inconvenient should you need to actually use the phone while it’s charging. The end result was the OnePlus 3 still ending with 67% battery, while the S7 barely got to 23%. Ouch.

OnePlus 3 Dash Charge

In our own tests, our OnePlus 3 consistently received a full charge in just a teensy bit more than an hour while still remaining mostly cool to the touch. If you’re curious to learn more about the OnePlus 3, you can check out our full review here.
