Google is gearing Search up with info about the 2016 Rio Olympics

Google tody announced new additions to Google Search for those interested in following the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. As Google does with most other notable events, the search engine can pull up organized information about the sporting event, including participants, medal winners, and schedules.

Users can look at information by sport and by gender. For instance, searching “100m butterfly swimming rio 2016” would bring up a card about the women’s sport. You could also search up specific athlete names to see what they’re doing and what they’ve won. Here’s a full rundown of what’s on tap:

Google will also alert folks of event outcomes if you want to opt-in to those (though you’ll have to search from your mobile device to get those). This is a great way to stay updated on the 2016 Rio games if you can’t watch all of the events yourself. Make sure you have the latest Google app update on your device in anticipation of the ceremony’s kickoff next week.
