Google Play Family Library launches, lets up to 6 people share purchases

Google today announced the launch of Google Play Family Library. If you don’t remember, Family Library lets up to 6 people share content purchased through Google Play. This includes apps, games, =, movies, books, and TV shows. For music, a family of 6 can enjoy Google Play Music for a fee of $14.99 just as they’ve been able to do since last year (and those in Ireland, Italy, Mexico, and New Zealand get in on the fun starting today alongside newly-added web signups).

Members of the family can enjoy the content on any of their devices, including on iOS and the web for movies, TV shows, and books. Furthermore, the Family Library enables the ability to share payment methods, and the organizer of the family can choose to require approval for purchases.

Of course, those who would rather spend their own money can continue to pay using their own payment sources. Oh, and Google lets you choose which content to share, so if you have some personal interest stuff or you’re sure no one is interested in that comic book collection you’re building, you can make sure they don’t see it.

The Google Play Family Library is currently available in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
