If you want to feel special, Twitter now makes it easier to get a Verified Account
Verified Accounts on Twitter have usually been synonymous with celebrities or important accounts, like the official White House Twitter account. Previously, it was next to impossible for anyone else to get their accounts verified, but that all changes today.
Twitter has opened up the verification process to everyone, and as long as all the requirements are met, you’ll get that little blue checkmark next to your Twitter handle. The company has decided to open up the process to everyone in an effort to “make it even easier for people to find creators and influencers on Twitter.”
In order to be considered for the blue checkmark, your account will need to include the following:
- Verified phone number
- Confirmed email address
- Bio
- Profile Photo
- Header Photo
- Birthday (for accounts that are not company, brand or organization accounts)
- Website
- Tweets set as public in Tweet privacy settings
Additionally, Twitter will be asking users a series of questions to help the team determine whether your account is worth being verified. This may include the need to scan and upload a “legible copy of your government-issued ID”.
