France was the unfortunate victim of yet another terrorist attack. Those in Nice, France were affected by an attack that happened during the country’s Bastille Day celebration, a remembrance of the seige of the Bastille prison that was a major part of the French Revolution. 84 people were killed and many more were wounded during the attack. As such, major US carriers have all extended offers to allow free calling and texting to France over the next couple of days. Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile will all waive overseas charges through July 17th, while Verizon will do the same through the 16th. Meanwhile, Google Voice users won’t be charged in the interim, however Google hasn’t given an exact cutoff date. Be sure to get in contact with your folks as soon as possible if this news affects you.
