Unboxing the Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid [VIDEO]

We’ve already gone hands-on with the Motorola Moto Z Droid and the Motorola Moto Z Droid Force, but we’re back with a quick unboxing for you. The devices were received at Motorola and Verizon’s press event in New York, where we were able to check out all the different Moto Mods, as well as the devices themselves.

Moto Mod Style Cover

One of the biggest selling points for the Moto Z lineup is its modular capabilities. Motorola has included a Moto Mod Style Cover so that we can protect the devices, as well as get a feel for how the Moto Mods will be of use during the review of the devices. The version that we received with our review units has a wood texture to it, and easily snaps to the back of either device. When launched, users will be able to purchase one from a plethora of different options to help make your device unique.

Turbo Charger with non-removable USB Type-C cable

Naturally, with every device, there’s a way to charge your devices. Motorola has included its signature Turbo Charger with both devices, although each one is a bit different. The Turbo Charger is known for having a non-removable cable, and the same rings true with this version, although since Motorola has moved to USB Type-C, that’s what you’ll find at the other end.

Additionally, not both chargers for the Moto Z and Moto Z Force are the same. The Moto Z includes a Turbo Charger 15, which will provide 8 hours of battery life for every 15 minutes of charging, while the Moto Z Force includes a Turbo Charger 30, which provides 15 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.

USB Type-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack adapter

Since Motorola and Lenovo have moved away from the 3.5mm headphone jack to create a thinner device, the company included a way to use your traditional headphones. Included in both boxes, was a USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter. Simply plug it in to your USB Type-C charging port on the devices, plug in your headphones, then you get can get moving. It’s a little annoying to have to use an adapter to listen with traditional headphones, but this won’t be a problem if you’ve already been using Bluetooth headphones.

Moto Mods

In addition to the two devices, Motorola wanted everyone to get a taste for the Moto Mods that will be coming when the devices are launched. In our review package, we received the following:
