There’s no denying that the HTC 10 is one of the best Android devices of 2016, but we’re sure a lot more people would be willing to take a look at the phone is it was a bit cheaper. Over the past few years, we’ve seen HTC bastardize its One line with multiple variants of its flagship smartphone, but things are looking a little different in 2016. By this time last year, HTC has released the HTC One M9, HTC One M9e, HTC One E9, HTC One E9+, HTC One M9+ and HTC One ME. The HTC 10 Lifestyle with a Snapdragon 652 processor was announced the same day as the 10, but it’s nearly impossible to find.
Rather than releasing a half-dozen variants of its flagship smartphone, HTC may keep things simple this time around with a single device within the Desire family – the HTC Desire 10. Evan Blass share that the device will be coming sometime in Q3, but no specifications have been given yet. The accompanying photo only shows off the rear camera which features a dual-LED flash and laser autofocus, but the color or the accent ring around the camera lens and placement of the flash indicate that the device in question may pull design elements from the HTC One E9+.
If the HTC Desire 10 is a sub-$500 HTC 10 or HTC 10 Lifestyle dressed in a polycarbonate body, would you buy it?
