The simple games are always my favorite. Memento Bay is another dead simple and highly addictive game. All you need to play is one finger. If you have that, you can play this game. Memento Bay combines two classic arcade styles. One is the formula of racing through checkpoints, the other is simple left-to-right controls.
To go forward, simply press one finger on the screen. To steer, drag the finger left or right without lifting it off the screen. Drag to the right to go right, etc. The controls take a second to get used to, but it works great. Once you’re moving you’ll want to keep an eye on the red arrow at the top of the screen. The arrow shows you where the next checkpoint will be. Go through the checkpoint or the game is over.
The other thing to keep an eye on is the clock. You start with 30 seconds. When time runs out the game is over. Going through a checkpoint adds 4 seconds. Finishing a stage adds 6 seconds. Running into obstacles will slow you down. The goal is to get through as many stages as possible before running out of time. It’s a race against the clock.
Memento Bay is a gorgeous game. Every stage offers something a little different. You can go from cool blue waters and beach houses to deep blue water and icebergs. Ramps can give you an extra speed boost, but watch out for rough waters that can slow you down. There are apparently “ancient artifacts” to collect if you take alternate paths, but I haven’t been able to find any.
If you’re looking for a beautifully simple and addictive game, Memento Bay is exactly that. The one-touch controls are simple and effective. The game offers enough variety to keep things interesting. The time element makes every move super critical, which makes the game intense. Memento Bay is free to download with pop-up ads after each game. Grab your captains hat and play today!
