A few days ago, a report began circulating that BlackBerry would be relying on TCL Communications for the manufacturing of its next device. This came after a WiFi Certification document showed evidence that Alcatel was the manufacturer of this upcoming device, with Alcatel being owned by TCL Communications.
Earlier today, an image began making its rounds that showed what the potential BlackBerry Neon would look like, and you can definitely see the Alcatel influence.
When looking at the recently released Alcatel Idol 4, you can see some similarities between the rear-bezel of the devices. On the image above, and the Idol 4, there is a slight metallic bezel on the rear, which makes it a bit obvious where part of the design came for this BlackBerry Neon. However, the other difference comes in with the camera. On the Idol 4 the camera was placed in the center, while this image shows the camera in the top left hand corner.
Here are some of the purported specs for the BlackBerry Neon:
There’s no guarantee that TCL Communications/Alcatel will be manufacturing the next BlackBerry device, but it has been mentioned that BlackBerry would be focusing its attention on software. BlackBerry is expected to unveil two more budget devices later this year, possibly next month, but we’re still a bit away from seeing anything confirmed for these devices.
