It wasn’t too long ago we told you about a massive upgrade to the NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV, and that update is now rolling out to units. The update is taking us to version 3.2, and in it are some seriously nice changes you’ll want to check out.
By far the biggest change is the addition of the Plex Media Server (download the app to your SHIELD here), the only non-traditional PC-like set-top box to have such a thing. It can transcode content from the SHIELD itself or any connected storage to any Plex-enabled device in your home.
Other changes include increased 4K and HDR support, support for universal search in Netflix, Dolby Atmos support, the ability to automatically turn your TV off and more. You can read more about the changes right here, and head to the settings menu on your SHIELD TV to start the upgrade process.
