Moto E3 Power passes WiFi certification, Android 6.0 included

Budget phones are all the rage these days. When phones like the OnePlus 3 cost less than $400, why would anyone spend upwards of $700 for a phone? The sub-$400 market is getting popular, but the sub-$200 market is just heating up. Motorola made waves in this category with the ultra low-cost Moto E. A new one is on the way.

WiFi certification for the Moto E3 Power (no relation to the video game convention) has just showed up. The model number is XT1706. We’re still scarce on details. It’s a phone with WiFi and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Other rumored specs include MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM, 8MP camera, and 5MP front. With a name like “Power” we assume it will have a decent sized battery. This will be the first Lenovo-made Moto E. “Motorola” doesn’t exist anymore. “Moto” is a sub-brand of Lenovo.
