Rumors of HTC building not one, but two Nexus devices for Google this year are starting to sound a little more real. Not too long ago, we learned the code name for the upcoming devices: the S1 (Sailfish) and M1 (Marlin), with new information on hardware pointing toward the S1 being the smaller of the two.
Although nothing is confirmed at this point, the folks at Android Police are giving this leak an 8 out of 10 confidence level, detailing the following specs:
HTC S1/Sailfish (codename)
So there’s still a lot of details missing, namely whether or not there will be additional storage configurations, or even if 32GB is the base model or higher-end one (maybe there’s a 16GB option? Maybe there’s a 64GB?). It’s also not clear how much of the HTC brand will be featured on the phone, or what part they’ll play in the marketing of the device.
So many questions, but it seems this could be the worthy successor the Nexus 5 we’ve been waiting for. Fingers crossed!
