The Android Pay application has just been updated but doesn’t have any major updates in tow. However, when digging a little deeper it’s been found that Google may have more plans for the app in the near future.
It’s a great thing to be able to use our devices to pay for goods and services, but there hasn’t been a real clear-cut way to find out which businesses accept Android Pay. An APK-Teardown reveals that the Android Pay app may end up showing users a map of all the locations that Android Pay is accepted. According to the folks at XDA, the way that this new feature would work would be by using your current location and pulling up a map of all the places that you can user Android Pay.
As long as Google doesn’t pull a 180, and remove the hidden code, we could see this come to our devices sooner rather than later. With over 100 banks currently participating in Android Pay, the service covers the needs of many folks across the US and UK. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes peeled to see when/if this feature makes it to our mobile devices.
