If you’re looking for the biggest and baddest phone on the planet, you may want to wait for the LeMax 2 from LeEco. According to the latest rumor, the LeMax 2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 821 processor which will be paired up with a staggering 8GB of RAM. That’s right, the LeEco LeMax 2 could have 2GB of RAM more than the newly-launched OnePlus 3 and 4GB of RAM more than what Samsung, HTC and LG have bestowed upon their 2016 flagship smartphones.
Other rumored specifications for the LeMax 2 include a 25-megapixel rear camera, aluminum unibody shell available in red, blue or silver, fingerprint sensor and a sticker price of 3000 Yuan (roughly $455 USD).
It’s clear that LeEco is trying to make a name for itself by being the first smartphone manufacturer to release a phone with 8GB of RAM, but we’re hoping this doesn’t become a trend. While most of us want phones with the best specs possible, simply adding more RAM doesn’t always translate to better performance if proper memory management is not implemented. This is clearly highlighted by the OnePlus 3 and its 6GB of RAM.
Do you think your Android phone would benefit from having 8GB of RAM?
