OnePlus has officially announced the OnePlus 3. It will retail for a starting price of $399.
For that price, you’re getting an all-metal phone that will turn heads when it launches. It has a Snapdragon 820 chipset, 6GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080P “Optic AMOLED” display, and more. Here’s the full rundown:
Display: 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED
Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
RAM and Storage: 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage (no option for expansion)
Rear Camera: 16MP Sony IMX298 with OIS, HDR, f/2.0 aperture and 4K video;
Front Camera: 8MP Sony IMX179 with f/2.0 aperture and 1080p video
Connectivity: Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi AC, 4G LTE Cat 6, GPS w/ GLONASS, NFC, USB 2.0
Ports: USB 2.0 Type-C, dual nano-SIM, 3.5mm audio
Battery: 3,000mAh non-removable battery with Dash Charge technology (60% battery in 30 minutes of charging)
The phone certainly doesn’t have much to hang its hat on in the way of original design, but these specs for $399 sounds like the biggest steal of the year. Even better is the ability to order one of these things without having to wait, as OnePlus has ditched the invite system forever. In fact, you can order one today(though you’ll have to wait until 3PM Eastern if you didn’t participate in the Loop VR reveal).
