Motorola has been known to release a mid-range variant of its newest devices, but surprisingly there was no sight of one during yesterday’s announcement. After the Moto Z and Moto Z Force were introduced, a leak came through to HelloMotoHK on Google+ showing off the Moto Z Play, and some upcoming modules.
The device is rumored to include a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, 16MP camera and a 3,600mAh battery, all powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625.
In addition to the Moto Z Play being leaked, we also are getting a look at two other Moto Z modules that didn’t make the announcement yesterday. First there will be a Pro Camera Mod which will give the camera on the Moto Z and Moto Z Force 10x optical zoom capabilities.
Additionally, the Adventure AMP Mod will reportedly give your Moto Z devices the ability to go underwater with you whenever you’re ready to go for a dive.
It’s a little questionable as to why Lenovo failed to make mention of either the Moto Z Play or the additional Moto Mods, but hopefully we’ll see these sooner rather than later. If these rumors come to fruition, there really won’t be much of a place for the Moto X lineup, although Motorola claims that the Moto X won’t be going anywhere.
