Following in the footsteps of Google and Samsung, LG launches an official security bulletin

After Samsung began issuing Security Bulletin’s whenever Google’s monthly security updates for Android would go out, LG is now following suit. The other South Korean manufacturer has published a page highlighting all the vulnerabilities and fixes for their monthly security updates. According to the page:

“The Product Security Response Team will periodically publish bulletins and updates about security issues in LG products and services to provide information to our customers about issues we believe are significant.

No matter how careful LG is in developing its products and services, from time to time, we may encounter a security issue.

We welcome engagement with partners, customers and the security research community to improve the overall security of LG’s products and services to reduce risk.”

You’ll find all the fixes found in Google’s updates, including any LG specific security patches they’d discovered relating to their devices. The most recent security bulletin for May details 33 patches, the same ones Google listed on their bulletin. Back in August of last year, LG committed to the release of monthly security updates after the Stage Fright exploit turned the Android world upside down.

Keep an eye on this page if you’d like to stay on top of your device security.
