You can avoid the wait for the June security update by flashing the OTA file

Earlier this week, Google released the June security update for Nexus devices, but the downside to this is that you have to wait for the OTA to hit your device. Now, Google has published the OTA files on its servers, so you can easily download and attempt to flash them yourself.

It seems that Google has quietly ended support for the Nexus 10, so if you have that device, it may be time to hang up the towel. Of course, there’s still root support for the device, and some of the custom ROM’s may include security updates, but they won’t be as prompt as Google’s updates.

If you want to flash the factory image to your device, Google has been kind enough to provide detailed instructions on how to do so. Remember though, flashing isn’t for everyone, so if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, it may be best to just wait until the OTA hits your device.
