Motorola is rolling out a software update for the Moto 360 (2015) and Moto 360 Sport

Motorola is pushing out updates for both the Motorola Moto 360 2015 and the Motorola Moto 360 Sport. Before you get your hopes up, it’s not the big Android Wear 2.0 update we saw introduced last Month at Google I/O. Instead, it’s more of a maintenance update, bringing the watch from build MEC23G (Android Wear 1.4.0.2576000) to the latest version, MWD49B. Along bug fixes and small improvements, here’s everything that’s new:

  • Moto Body enhanced calorie calculation: Moto Body now takes heart rate into account when calculating calories burned.
  • Moto Body heart rate continuous measure: Heart rate measures in Moto Body are now continuously updated, you don’t need to tap to re-scan while you are in the app.
  • Security updates: Includes the updates of Android monthly security bulletin until May 1st 2016
  • Stability Improvements: Includes changes that fix bugs and improve stability.

Motorola says the update will begin rolling out in phases, but after manually checking for the update on our device, we were able to pull it (Settings > About > System updates). If you’d like to sit back and wait, you’ll see the update notification eventually.
