Huawei’s Honor sub-brand is rumored to be prepping for the launch of the Honor 8. The new device is said to complement the recently-launched Honor V8, but the device will feature a much smaller 5.2-inch display with a yet-unknown resolution. The processor used in the Honor 8 will either be the Kirin 950 or 955 and will be paired with 4GB of RAM and a 12MP dual camera. The exact battery capacity is unknown, but the source claims that the cell will be larger than 3,000 mAh. Like the Huawei P9 and Honor V8, the device will also feature a USB Type-C connector.
While the listed specs indicate that the Honor 8 will be a slightly better version than the Huawei P9, the rumor claims that the design of the phone will be different. Rather than using an aluminum unibody shell, the Honor 8 will feature an aluminum frame with 2.5D curved glass protecting the back and is being referred to as the “most beautiful device” Honor has ever built. Using glass on the back of a smartphone isn’t anything new, but it will be the first time that we’ve seen Honor adopt this design for one if its phone.
There’s no specific launch date for the Honor 8, but the phone will likely make its debut in June.
