Moto G4 Play looks to be the $100 model we’re used to [VIDEO]
Lenovo had some big announcements today by unveiling the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. These devices are affordable, but they’re a step above what we’re used to from the Moto G line, and as such their introductory price tags crept into the $200 range.
Sadly, this would seem to shun the folks who don’t have quite that much to spend, but Lenovo has something for them after all. The Moto G4 Play was quietly revealed as the third option in this trifecta.
The device is significantly weaker than the other 2 in terms of sheer specs. Notable differences include a shrink down to 5 inches on the display front, as well as a fuzzier resolution of 720p. The chipset gets downgraded to the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, and the rear camera comes in at 8 megapixels. It also only has a 2,800mAh battery.
The other specs sound more in line with the other 2 phones, though, with 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel front camera, and 16GB of storage with a microSD slot. Motorola had a nice promotional video to show off all 3 phones, and you can check that out above if you’re interested. Motorola says it will be available mid-summer, but you can register right now for updates leading up to the phone’s arrival.
