AT&T Galaxy S6 devices finally get Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA

The wait is finally over. For those who haven’t sideloaded the leaked Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware onto their AT&T Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices, AT&T has finally started the OTA process for the device today.

Many folks on Reddit are reporting that their devices are receiving the goods. It’s about 1.5GB large, so it’s fairly lengthy and you’ll want to charge the battery on your phone before rushing to the Settings > About Phone menu to find the update. The software is coming in as version PD6, which is the same build that folks have been able to sideload for a couple of weeks now.

Unfortunately, AT&T doesn’t go into much detail about the changes in the upgrade, but you should expect all your typical Marshmallow features, as well as improved performance overall (with many people saying there’s a significant difference in device smoothness compared to the Lollipop build). Pull it down to your phone and let us know how it’s treating you!

[Update]: As per AT&T, here’s a quick rundown of their specific changes:
