How to disable Google Now On Tap

0

Google Now On Tap is one of the new features that’s built into Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). Anyone who has received the Marshmallow update on an older phone or has purchased a 2016 flagship Android device can now see Google Now contextual-aware cards when they long-press the home button on their phone. The cards use Google’s knowledge graph to pull together links to YouTube video, movies times, restaurant hours, directions and even customer service phone numbers.

Your Google Now’s personal cards are still available, but you have to tap the G logo at the bottom of the screen to access them – making it slightly less convenient to see the weather, your personal news feed or the reminders Google Now pulls together for you.

There’s no doubt that Google Now On Tap is a helpful feature, but we know that many people will find it unnecessary or an annoyance if all they really want is to see their personalized Google Now cards. Fortunately, there’s a simple way to disable Now On Tap.
