The original NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet is now receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

The newer NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 received Android 6.0.1 only a month ago and today that update is finally headed to the OG tablet model. Owners of the original NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet will be happy to know that Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow is now officially rolling out for the device, bringing with it all those wonderful features like support for the new Vulkan graphics API — a performance boost gamers are sure to appreciate.
This isn’t the first taste of Marshmallow for the tablet. Back in February, the tablet received the first initial release of Marshmallow (SHIELD Tablet Upgrade 4.0), otherwise known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow. So really, there’s not too much new here, but users should find the new Vulkan API and bug fixes all welcome changes. Here’s the full changelog:
