Google wants to pay you $20 an hour to test their self-driving car
Google is looking for a few good men and women to help test their self-driving cars in Arizona. According to the job listing spotted on HireArt‘s website, Google wants to contract individuals for 12 to 24 months, paying $20 an hour. These “vehicle safety specialists” would be required to sign a confidentiality agreement (Google doesn’t want you airing all their dirty laundry, after all) and work full 6 to 8 hour work days.
It may sound easy, but it’s not a totally laid back gig. Google also requires drivers have a clean driving record, no criminal history, write at least 40 words per minute, provide “concise written and oral feedback to the engineering team,” and pass a number of car training courses. Not mentioned, but still super important, are the cat-like reflexes you’ll need to grab the steering wheel and take over should Google’s self-driving algorithms falter.
