When you think about smartphones taking over as personal cameras, we’ve come a long way. Sure, there are those devices out there that just don’t make the cut and can’t replace having a “real” camera, but then you run into devices like the Galaxy series from Samsung.
These devices have some of the best sensors in the world, and typically the only device that can compare comes from Apple (though others are starting to pull their weight). When Samsung released the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, we knew there would be a great camera, but Samsung wanted to invite a professional photographer to see how well the Galaxy S7 Edge would do.
Theerasak Saksritawee is a professional photographer who took on Taiwan after an invitation from Samsung, armed with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the Lens Cover for the device. What came from this set of photos is something truly beautiful, and it shows just how amazing the camera sensors within the device are.
For reference, the Galaxy S7 Edge features a 12-megapixel rear-camera with a f/1.7 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization and a Dual Pixel auto-focusing system. It’s the combination of software and hardware that ranked the Galaxy S7 Edge at the top of smartphone cameras from DxOMark in 2016.
Prepare to have your mind blown by these amazing pictures:
These pictures were taken all over Taiwan, and as you can see, in different lighting scenarios. The Galaxy S7 Edge performed extremely well, and if you’re in the market for a device with an excellent camera then this is the one you’ll want to spring for.
