Are you a student looking to get your jam on while you study for those exams and write lengthy thesis papers? Apple is looking to help you out. The company has started offering a 50% discount for students who sign up for Apple Music.
Apple Music is already pretty affordable at the industry-standard rate of $9.99 per month ($14.99 for a family of six), but this promotion saves you enough money to get that extra Nacho Bell Grande each month. Apple has partnered with UNiDAYS for the promotion, so having a lingering .edu email address won’t be enough to be billed as a student — they’ll actually check to see if you’re actively enrolled.
Apple will allow you to be signed up as a student for up to 4 years, and those 4 years don’t have to be continuous for those of you who need to take a semester or 2 off. Even better news is that the deal will apply to U.K., Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, and the US to start. That’s not the entirety of the world, mind you, but it’s better than keeping things limited to the US like many other promotions and services tend to do at the beginning.
You should be able to sign up for a student membership starting today on Android or the Web, whether you’re an existing Apple Music subscriber or signing up or the first time.
