Android Marshmallow seems to be pretty popular today. After Sprint announced this afternoon that Marshmallow was headed to the LG G3 (but weren’t sure when that would happen), AT&T has begun rolling out the software update for the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The AT&T variant of the Galaxy S6 will be the last of the flagships to receive an update to Marshmallow. Sprint, Verizon and T-Mobile variants have already received theirs. The update is rolling out over-the-air and should be hitting devices in the coming days as software version G920AUCU3CPC2.
But not ever device is receiving the same treatment. HTC’s Mo Versi took to Twitter today to let HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 owners know that that the Marshmallow update on AT&T has been further delayed. According to the tweet, it could be a few more weeks before they receive technical approval from the carrier, so hang in there.
As with most OTA updates, time frames are mostly a target date and can be a bit wonky. It’s not the first time an update has been delayed and probably not the last. But hey, what’s a few extra days waiting for that Marshmallow-y goodness to hit your device when you’ve been waiting this long.
Drop us a line below and let us know whether you have received the update to Marshmallow on your AT&T Galaxy S6 and how you feel about HTC (or AT&T) pushing back updates on the M8/M9 even further.
