Looks like Sony won’t be coming out with an Xperia X Premium afterall
Last week, there were rumors swirling around about a new device coming to Sony’s Xperia lineup, dubbed the Xperia X Premium. The device was intended to be another premium device in Sony’s lineup. The big feature that was the driving force behind the rumors for this device was an HDR display.
A device with an HDR display would be the first of it’s kind on a mobile device. With the rumors stating the device would have up to 1000 nits of brightness, making it the brightest smartphone on the market today. This would definitely be a hot commodity… if it were true.
Unfortunately, it’s time to give up those hopes and dreams. Sony Taiwan reached out to the source of the rumors and stated that there is no Sony Xperia X Premium device in the works. Kind of a bummer, but hey, at least it wasn’t released, then features were held back due to a combination of the hardware and software.
