HTC 10 could have world’s first selfie camera with OIS, here are the alleged sample photos
We had a feeling leaked specs weren’t telling the whole story about the upcoming HTC 10. They rarely do. With less than a week left before the official reveal, more leaks are pouring in, but this one isn’t from the usual places (tipsters, retailers, or even China). It seems the production team for a photo booth service called SmileBooth has gotten their hands on what they’re calling the HTC 10, posting a few photos from the device’s selfie camera. The photos were posted by Kisha Bari, a Twitter account used mostly for testing out the company’s photo booth service.
Now, we already know HTC will be using an UltraPixel camera on the phone (this was revealed in one of their latest teaser trailers) and according to rumors, HTC would be using the same camera sensor as found on the Nexus 6P. Looking back at last year’s HTC One M9, we’d also guess that the 4MP UltraPixel selfie camera would also be making a return for the 10. What we would have never guessed was the possibility that HTC would be throwing in OIS for the front facing camera, something the guy who took the above photos is alleging. Just as he mentions, it would be “a world’s first.” Here are a couple of samples allegedly taken from the HTC 10’s front facing camera:
Keep in mind that although we were able to grab the full-sized image from Twitter, there’s still a lot of compression done on Twitter’s end. We expect a a slightly better end result in photos taken directly off the camera. That being said, the results are still promising. Selfie cameras are all the rage these days and anything OEMs can do to help users take the brightest, clearest, and most stable photo the first time, is something selfie addicts are sure to appreciate.
