Bots are all the rage these days and now Facebook Messenger has been infested. The Messenger team has announced a new bot that should be very handy for frequent fliers. Airlines will now be able to send information to you through Messenger. The first airline to join up is KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.

So how does it work? When you book tickets you’ll choose to recieve information via Messenger. Once you opt in, the bot will send you your itinerary, boarding pass, check-in confirmation, and delay notifications. If the bot doesn’t cut it, you can talk to a human staff member. If you already use Messenger for daily communication, this is an incredibly useful addition.

We know many of you despise anything that has to do with Facebook, but Messenger is actually a really nice app. Handy bots could make the app even more powerful. What do you think of this idea? Do you use Facebook Messenger?
