Uber is already delivering miscellaneous snacks, household items and other goods from local stores, but the company wants to take things a step further. UberEATS is a service that helps treat your cravings for local food in a pinch. We heard a couple of months ago it’d be here in March, and Uber delivered on that promise.
It’s a simple service: you request an order from your favorite local restaurant — no matter what it is — and Uber will pick it up and deliver it to you (for a reasonable fee, no doubt). And if you order from their Instant Delivery menu, they’ll even guarantee that your food will be there in 10 minutes or less.
Of course, the service isn’t available everywhere just yet. Toronto and Los Angeles residents are the first lucky souls to be able to use it, though Uber has confirmed plans to expand to Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Melbourne, New York, Paris, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. at some point in the future. Head here for the app if you’re looking to try it out.
