LG reveals a DAB+ radio chip inside the LG Stylus 2

When LG revealed the LG Stylus 2 they left out an interesting detail about its internals: it has a DAB+ radio chip. If you don’t know, DAB+ is a digital radio broadcasting standard that’s poised to completely supplant FM radio down the line.

DAB+ offers a much wider range of possible channels and crisp and clear audio. It’s much preferred over internet-based digital radio as the standard doesn’t need to use an ounce of a standard data connection to work. Think of it like digital TV, only for radio.

LG says their initial launch markets for the Stylus 2 with DAB+ are Australia, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom, though they’ve implied more will receive it down the line. With more than 500 million people in 40+ countries enjoying DAB+ radio we’re sure that list will expand a great deal.
