Sony Xperia Z5 family, Z3+ and Z4 Tablet get Android 6.0 Marshmallow
It’s being reported that a big crop of Sony devices — including the entirety of the Xperia Z5 family — are now starting to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The base Sony Xperia Z5 model was receiving the goods as early as last week in Japan, but now it seems to be going out globally alongside new rollouts for the Xperia Z5 Premium and the Xperia Z5 Compact.
Beyond that, a couple of older devices are getting the goods, as well, with the Xperia Z3+ and Xperia Z4 Tablet also starting to see rollouts.
Folks should be seeing the same build number of 32.1.A.1.163 across all the devices. The actual Android build is the base 6.0, not the latest 6.0.1, for what it’s worth, and some noteworthy changes include the absence of adoptable storage and STAMINA mode (though Sony is said to be bringing that last one back in a later update).
