OnePlus 2’s OxygenOS 2.2.1 update brings RAW support to camera app

OnePlus is delivering a nice upgrade to the OnePlus 2. This is OxygenOS 2.2.1, and while it’s more of a bug fixer than anything else, the company did add one nice feature for those into photography: RAW support in camera

A RAW file is a 100% representation of an image taken from a camera sensor without any compression, optimization or any other edits made to it. The file stores an enormous amount of color information so you can make meaningful edits without any reduction in quality. You typically need special apps like Lightroom to edit these files, though they should be perfectly viewable otherwise.

OnePlus says the rollout will be incremental, so you might not see it right away. The file should be about 241MB in size so it’s probably a good idea to get on WiFi if you are low on data or have a weak connection.
