Just this morning we’d heard HTC was going through with plans to drop their One naming scheme to make their next flagship known simply as the HTC 10. But the name isn’t that important — it’s the device. And we may have gotten our first clear look at the thing.
Leakster @OnLeaks posted a photo of what seems to be a prototype of the device, and @evleaks didn’t take long to come through with a helpful response. Here’s the first render of the HTC 10:
As you can see, it looks just like the leaked phone we saw in the wild not long ago, complete with a metal body that chamfered edges, a fingerprint scanner, and what appears to be USB Type-C. The renders seem to confirm that HTC won’t be going with dual front speakers as we’ve seen on the HTC One X9 and earlier handsets. If that doesn’t bother you, though, it looks like one dreamy device.
The render doesn’t give us much more to know from looks alone, but something that did stand out to us is the physical size of the front-facing camera, a module that isn’t typically as profound as the rear-placed counterpart. HTC did say they had a very compelling camera experience in tow, so we’ll have to see if that profoundness translates to tangible and noticeable differences compared to what everyone else is doing.
