Vivo-XPlay-5-6GB-RAM

You thought 4GB of RAM was good? Ha! That’s nothing. A Chinese manufacturer has announced a smartphone with 6GB of RAM. Yes, 6. The number that comes after 5 and before 7.

The manufacturer’s name is Vivo and the phone is the XPlay 5. Obviously, we’ll probably never see it here in the US, but 6GB of RAM is a number we can’t ignore. 4GB of RAM has just become the standard in Android flagships. There are still tons of devices launching with 3GB of RAM. Vivo decided to skip right over 5 and go with 6GB. We applaud them for that.

The other specs in this phone aren’t too shabby either. It has a Snapdragon 820 processor, 6-inch display, 16MP camera, and 4,300 mAh battery. Beastly specs compared to the new Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5. The only problem is, again, we’ll never see it here in the US. Is 6GB of RAM necessary? Absolutely not. Is it cool? Yes, yes it is.

Ever since I flipped open my first phone I've been obsessed with the devices. I've dabbled in other platforms, but Android is where I feel most at home.
