Samsung Gear S2 Classic 4G is officially headed to Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile on March 11th
The Samsung Gear S2 Classic has been available for purchase since October, priced at $350. Back during CES, Samsung showed off off 2 new Gear S2 Classic colors — platinum and rose gold — and today, an entirely new model of the classy watch has been announced and it packs 3G radios (HSPA+). Headed to Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile come March 11th, the Samsung Gear S2 Classic 4G is capable or placing/receiving phone calls directly from the watch itself, with or without your smartphone nearby.
Right now, T-Mobile is the only announcing pricing, allowing customers to make installment payments with $0 down and $16.67 a month for 2 years. That, or you just pay $400 straight up. Remember, the 4G in the title isn’t actual 4G LTE, but a reference to HSPA+ which, in other parts of the world, is simply known as really fast 3G.
It looks like black will be the only color available for the S2 Classic 4G, at least initially. Hopefully the Samsung Gear S2 Classic 4G will fare better than the failed launch of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. Such a huge missed opportunity.
