Google Street View adds 40 US national parks and historic sites to visit from the couch or on-the-go
Although it started off as a handy way of viewing locations or business in first person view, Street View has quickly grown into so much more. In many ways it was VR before it became the buzzword it is today, with Google adding locations and destinations that went off the beaten path, taking Street View to exotic locales like the tops of volcanoes or the Great Barrier Reef.
Today, Google has announced that they’ve teamed up with the National Park Service for their 100th birthday to add 40 US national parks to Street View, allowing users to experience these locations in full 360-degrees, just as if they were there. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also artifacts and historical treasures to check out as part of new museum collections as well.
Google also mentions they’ve added historic sites like Alcatraz and Montezuma Castle, so whether you’re on the couch or on-the-go, some of the best US destinations are only a few clicks away. Check it out via the link below.
