Samsung Galaxy S7 will feature the Snapdragon 820 in the US
We’re getting very close to the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S7. Leaks and rumors have been pouring in lately. Samsung hit it out of the park last year with the Galaxy S6, which makes the Galaxy S7 even more important. The latest information is all about the processor. For many Android fans, nothing is more important that the processor.
The presumed AT&T model of the Galaxy S7 was just run through a benchmark on GeekBench. Unlike the Canadian version, this one seems to have the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. This was also reported in an earlier leak. The 820 performed better than the Exynos 8890 in single-core performance, but lagged behind in multi-core tests. This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung gives American fans a weaker processor.
We saw the Snapdragon 820 in action at CES in the LeTV Le Max Pro phone. It was very impressive, but we obviously didn’t have the Exynos 8890 to compare with. Other rumored specs for the Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge include 4GB of RAM, Android Marshmallow, and 12MP camera. Are you excited to see the “next big thing?”
