Xiaomi co-founder reveals details of upcoming Mi 5 including Snapdragon 820 processor
In post to the company’s official Weibo account, Xiaomi co-founder Li Wanqiang divulged some new info about their upcoming (yet unofficially announced) Mi 5. The device has already entered mass production ahead of its newly revealed release. The Xiaomi Mi 5 will be available on February 8, which coincides with the Chinese New Year. Wanqiang also teased us with news that the Mi 5 will be among the first handsets to utilize Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 820 chipset.
It may have been the first phone to feature the chip had details of the LeTV Le Max Pro not been reveled by Qualcomm at CES. Nevertheless, it won’t be long until consumers can get their hands on the next generation of mobile processing power. The Mi 5 will be rounded out with a rumored 5.2-inch QHD display, 4GB RAM, and 16MP rear camera (along with 13MP selfie cam).
