Huawei today revealed that the Huawei Mate 8 will indeed be seeing a global launch. The device — which was already available in China — is the company’s pride and joy phablet.
It’s a 6-inch 1080p device that champions Huawei’s custom Kirin 950 chipset which is said to rival Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820.
The sad news is that “global” isn’t quite as global as we thought. It won’t be getting a US launch, which is odd as Huawei was said to be looking to improve their US presence. That said, a 30-country launch is still significant, including Spain, Germany, France, United Arab Emirates, Mexico and Australia getting in on the fun. Huawei didn’t have any solid details on release timeframes, but it shouldn’t take very long.
