OnePlus X with more powerful Snapdragon 810 gets certified in China
OnePlus is planning something big for 2016 or, perhaps, small is a better word. A device carrying the model number One E1000 was certified by TENAA, the Chinese equivalent of the FCC. The phone, which looks an awful lot like the OnePlus X that launched a few months back, only with the same higher-end processor found in the OnePlus 2. Our favorite part? The petite 4.9-inch 1080p display.
Other specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a micro SD slot with support for cards up 128GB. As for the camera, it’s a 13MP shooter paired with an 8MP one on the front, along with the usual 4G LTE bands, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi (but not mention of NFC). The phone will reportedly come out of the box with Android 5.1.1 which makes sense given OxygenOS isn’t supposed to get Marshmallow until Q1 of next year.
Whether this hits the market as the OnePlus 2 Mini or OnePlus X+ is anyone’s guess, but it could be announced early next year as OnePlus attempts to get a jump on big name flagships launching in Q1. It was interesting that an identical OPPO equivalent also hit TENAA as the OPPO A30. No word on if we’ll see this outside of China or, if like the OnePlus X, the phone will come to the US without the proper support for our 4G LTE bands. We’ll try to not get our hopes up.
