‘Chromer’ gives every app its own custom internal browser

Chrome “Custom Tabs” is a way for developers to create browsers inside of their apps. Twitter is one app that currently uses custom tabs. When you tap on a link from inside the Twitter app it opens a themed browser page. This makes it super easy to resume your Twitter activity when you’re finished with the link. Chromer is a new app that gives custom tabs to every app.

Chromer couldn’t be easier to use. Install the app from the Play Store for free. When asked, set Chromer as the default browser. Now, when you tap on a link from inside of an app you’ll see the page slide in from the left in a new tab. When you’re done with the page, simply tap the “X” in the top left corner and you’ll be returned to the app, exactly where you left it. It’s a super quick and easy way to jump back and forth without losing your spot.

Chromer doesn’t interfere with other default apps. YouTube links can still open the YouTube app, etc. You’ll also notice that Chromer overrides apps that already use custom tabs. For example, links from inside Twitter will open with Chromer even though Twitter already has their own custom tab setup.

This is a great app if you find yourself visiting a lot of links from inside apps. You could use Chromer as a replacement for Link Bubble. It’s a very new app. Give it a shot and tell us what you think!
