Amazon adds more than 4,000 items to its one-hour delivery service, starts delivering alcohol to Manhattan

Amazon Prime Now just got a huge injection of inventory. Amazon has announced that more than 4,000 items have been added to the list of products that can be delivered in 1-2 hours. The delivery service — which is in over 20 metropolitan areas in the US and select parts of Europe — has also recently added wine, beer and spirits in Manhattan (Seattle was the lone city previously), which is sure to be quite a big deal for folks in that area

With that, Amazon also gave us a look at some of the most popular items being ordered around the country. Not surprisingly, the most ordered items seem to be candy, junkfood and water. We all get those late cravings for a snack that we don’t want to get off the couch for, right? Amazon’s own products — like the Fire TV Stick — also curiously found spots at the top of the most-delivered list in places like Phoenix, AZ.

Amazon Prime Now has grown quite a bit for only being one-year-old, and it’s our hope Amazon will blaze the trail even faster in 2016 to add more cities to the list. Here’s the full list as it stands today:

Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Miami, Minneapolis, Nashville, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Antonio, San Francisco, San Jose, San Diego, Seattle and Richmond

Be sure to stay tuned if you expect your area to be added at some point down the line.
