You no longer need an invite to buy the OnePlus 2, OnePlus X is invite-free between December 5th and 7th
OnePlus has come out and announced something big for prospective OnePlus 2 buyers: there’s no longer a need for an invite! The company made the announcement on their forums. This is pretty significant because the OnePlus One invite system wasn’t shut down until just before the sequel arrived. Having the same thing happen for the OnePlus 2 in a significantly shorter amount of time is quite the surprise.
So you can go ahead and buy one right now if you want. They’re even promising that folks who buy one by December 7th will have it in time for the holidays. We’re not sure if their production has been able to ramp up or if demand is simply sliding, but either way they’re confident enough to say they can move units without putting a lock on the floodgates.
OnePlus also has some nice holiday promotions coming up in a couple of days. For starters, you won’t need an invite to buy the OnePlus X between December 5th and December 7th. That’s not as sweet as a permanent exile of the system, but it’s something. There are also some promotions and deals going on for other purchases:
