Google’s cost-efficient VR headset Cardboard just got a lot more personal. The company has released a new camera app made specifically for capturing photos in virtual reality. The app will capture photos in a way that gives them great depth when viewed through a Google Cardboard headset. Near objects look near, and far objects look far. It’s as simple as that. Here’s how the image looks when someone might slightly sway their head:
If that’s not enough, the app also records some of the audio around you while taking the photo, so when you go back to view it later it’ll be as if you’re right at the scene. This could be the most fun way to share some cool vacation photos, so be sure to give it a try in the Google Play Store at your earliest convenience.
