Like it or not, the reality of today’s mobile devices is that at some point during your day, you’re going to need to juice them up. It’s inevitable. While there are plenty of options for getting the job done, few devices combine the convenience of a portable charger and wall charger in one.

The TYLT Energi 6K Smart Charger just so happens to be one of these wonderful gadgets, designed to charge your phone like a regular wall charger and continue charging your phone while on-the-go. This is thanks to a hefty 6,000mAh battery inside that is capable of charging most devices around twice. Since the Energi 6K features an integrated micro USB cable, you wont even have to worry about bringing a separate cable with (unless you’re looking for some extra slack). It really is an all-in-one device.

The Energi 6K is capable of outputting up to 2.4A and uses TYLT’s Intelligent Charging Technology to keep the priority on your device when plugged into the wall. Once your phone or tablet is fully charged, only then will it begin pouring more juice into the Energi’s battery.

Charging the Energi is as simple as plugging it directly into a wall socket and the collapsible prongs help it fit snugly in your purse or backpack. It is small enough that you could carry it in a back pocket, but not if you wear skinny jeans. Even then, you’d have to tether your phone in another pocket using a longer USB cable like a high-tech wallet chain.

Like most everything else built by TYLT, we were really impressed by the Energi 6K’s build quality and smooth, soft-touch finish. For anyone thinking about gifting this charger up for the holidays, it leaves a great impression and screams quality. But that premium feel also comes with a matching price. Our only complaint is at $70, the TYLT Energi 6K is a tad on the pricey side, but TYLT’s 1-year warranty and reliability could make it worth it.
