Apple Music for Android arrives to Google Play
It’s finally happened, folks — hell has frozen over and pigs have flown in the skies. That, and Apple’s first true Android app is now available in the Google Play Store. That app is Apple Music, which the company promised they’d bring to our beloved platform when they announced the service last year.
Apple Music boasts a catalog of 30 million songs, though that’s hardly an industry first. What they’re banking on is the exclusive content deals they’re working to secure, such as exclusive album and track releases, as well as a Beats 1 radio program that features 24/7 live radio shows from top DJs around the world. The radio shows feature song premiers, exclusive artists previews and themed music countdowns.
The other big thing with Apple Music is that they offer up a free 3-month trial to all newcomers — that’s unheard of, really. It almost makes it seem silly not to try it just because you can. If you decide you want to keep it, you’ll enjoy a $10 per month subscription, or you have the ability to get on a family plan of up to 5 people for $15 per month.
Give the app a download and give Apple Music a chance. We’re not sure it’d be enough to pull most of you away from Google Play Music and its awesome music curation and other key features (such as cloud storage for up to 50,000 songs), but it’s worth giving it a shot anyway.
